Agreed requests from energy companies for purchase of equipment within Energy Support Fund exceed EUR 310 mln – Energy Ministry

The working group on organizing humanitarian assistance in the energy industry, created under the Ministry of Energy within the Energy Support Fund, approved requests from companies in the fuel and energy complex for the purchase of equipment and fuel worth more than EUR 310 million, said Minister of Energy Herman Haluschenko.

“During the period from January to early October 2023, more than 200 agreements for the purchase of energy equipment were concluded as part of the fund’s work,” the ministry said in a release on Tuesday, citing its head.

The ministry clarified that the total volume of donor commitments regarding grant contributions to the Energy Support Fund reached more than EUR 322 million, of which EUR 192 million was actually transferred to the fund’s account from 15 public and private sector donors from different countries, the rest of the amount is announced contributions expected in the fund’s account in the near future.

According to the ministry, grant contributions to the fund were made by public and private donors from Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, Austria, Iceland, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, Hungary, as well as the European Commission and the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA).

“Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the enemy has done everything possible to damage or destroy our energy system. If not for the colossal efforts of our military, energy workers and international partners, he would have succeeded. The Ukraine Energy Support Fund has become an effective tool for attracting grant funds from partners for procurement of equipment,” Haluschenko noted.
