The Polish Center for European Projects is developing project documentation for organizing high-speed rail links with Ukraine within the framework of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), said the Polish government commissioner for Polish-Ukrainian development cooperation, Jadwiga Emilewicz.

“The Center for European Projects is today working on project documentation from Poland in this matter,” she said at the Second Ukraine Recovery Forum organized recently in Warsaw by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH).

According to her, the inclusion of railway communication from the borders of Poland to Lviv, Kyiv, Mariupol and Odesa in TEN-T makes it possible to finance the development of project documentation from European funds.

Speaking about current difficulties, she pointed out that the ongoing repair of railway tracks between Ukraine and Poland is hampered by the need to restrict traffic for several hours a day.

“PKP (the Polish State Railway), at the request of the Ukrainian side, agreed to postpone the repairs so as not to stop traffic," she explained.

As reported, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) resumed its representative office in Kyiv in July 2023. PAIH has compiled a register of Polish companies interested in participating in the reconstruction of Ukraine. It included more than 2,500 Polish enterprises.
