Ukravtodor ready to finish building Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge in Kyiv

Ukravtodor is ready to complete the construction of the Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge across the Dnipro River in Kyiv, just as it is completing the bridge in Zaporizhia, Head of Ukravtodor Oleksandr Kubrakov told Interfax-Ukraine during the Ukraine 30. Infrastructure forum.

"We have already preliminarily evaluated this project. This should be a political decision, as in the case of the Zaporizhia bridge. After the transfer of the Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge to us, we will be able to complete the capital's long-term construction in a year and a half," he said.

Of the projects that Ukravtodor plans to implement in the capital in 1.5-2 years, Kubrakov named the Darnytsky bridge.

"We will complete all the ramps (from the bridge) together with Ukrzaliznytsia," he added.

As reported, the construction of the Podilsky bridge crossing began in December 2003, but since 2007 the work has been suspended due to lack of funding. In 2010, funding was resumed, at the end of October 2010 the first stage was put into operation: two-way traffic was opened on the Havansky bridge and an overpass from the bridge in Naberezhno-Khreschatytska Street.
