Operation of NCER should be transparent, clear for citizens, investors - Poroshenko

Operation of the National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) should be transparent and clear both for Ukrainian citizens and potential investors in the energy sector, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.

"We must take care of transparent tariff formation. It [the operation of the commission] should be transparent and clear for citizens, provide an effective anti-corruption component and be well understood by international partners," he said at a meeting with newly appointed members of the commission and representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on Wednesday.

As reported, the Ukrainian president selected Oleksandr Formahei, Olena Antonova, Oksana Kryvenko, Dmytro Kovalenko and Yevhen Mahlevany to appoint them members of the NCER. Two more members of the commission would be appointed after the second stage of the contest.
