Gardeners and berry producers would be able to receive up to 80% of compensation for planting materials in 2018, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.

"I would like to say to all those who have a desire to create gardens today that the government supports gardening and berry growing in the country today. We will compensate for 80% of the planting stock," he said at a government meeting on Wednesday.

The prime minister expressed his hope that in the first ten days of February the government will coordinate the distribution of funds under the support programs in the agricultural sector.

As reported, the national budget for 2018 announced UAH 300 million for support of horticulture and wine growing.

The national budget for 2018 foresees the allocation of UAH 7.3 billion to support agriculture compared with UAH 6.3 billion in 2016.
