Public joint-stock company Ukrgazvydobuvannia was raided on Tuesday regarding the case on purchase of spare parts to pumps at the high price, which has been investigated since May 2017, Spokesman of Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) Andriy Lysenko has said.

He said that on May 5, 2017, a criminal case under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion or property by malversation committed in respect of an especially gross amount or by an organized group) and the department for investigating important cases of the main investigative department of the PGO started a pretrial investigation.

"It concerned the purchase of spare parts for pumps in Ukraine-2000 LLC in October 2016 for the total amount of more than UAH 51 million exceeding their market value by 3-20 times. During the pretrial investigation it was already established that officials of PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia with the purpose of capturing the funds entered into a conspiracy with representatives of enterprises supplying spare parts, organized and implemented a scheme for procurement of inventory items at inflated prices," Lysenko wrote.

The pretrial investigation is underway.

Earlier the press service of Ukrgazvydobuvannia reported that PGO and Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) again raided the company. Last year PGO and SBU raided the company several times.
