Energoatom in January-May 2017 increased electricity production by 11.8% (by 4.126 billion kilowatt-hours) year-over-year, to 38.979 billion kWh, the press service of the company has said.

The target was met by 106.6%.

Electricity sales on the wholesale market during the reporting period totaled 36.732 billion kWh compared to 32.776 billion kWh year-over-year. The Energoatom's share of total electricity sold to Energomarket state enterprise was 59.8% and the share of total electricity generation in the country was 58.2%.

In January-May 2017, the company transmitted electricity worth UAH 20.889 million (including VAT) to the wholesale power market, which is 24.1% more than in January-May 2016 (UAH 16.831 billion).

Capital investment came to UAH 1.164 billion compared to UAH 1.303 billion from a year ago.

The company sent UAH 5.366 billion to the budgets of all levels.

The coefficient of using Energoatom's capacity in January-May 2017 came to 77.6%, which was 8.7 percentage points more than year-over-year.

Three malfunctions were recorded in the work of Ukrainian nuclear power plants in the reporting period, and it was seven malfunctions a year ago.

The durability of regular preventive repairs was 371.53 days.

Radiation levels and the fire and environmental situations at all Ukrainian NPPs were normal over the period.

Energoatom is the operator of all four Ukrainian-based operating nuclear power plants, which have 15 VVER reactors with an overall generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts.

The company also operates the Tashlyk hydroelectric pumped storage power plant with a 302 MW capacity in turbine mode and Oleksandrivka hydropower plant with an 11.5 MW capacity, which together with Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear power plant make up the South Ukrainian energy complex.
