The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has ratified the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of Montenegro on cooperation in the field of education and science.

Some 230 people's deputies voted for relevant law No. 0147 at the plenary session on Wednesday, the Kyiv-based Interfax-Ukraine news agency has reported.

This agreement was signed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of Montenegro in Podgorica on December 9, 2011.

According to the explanatory documents to the law, its adoption will create a legal basis for the development of bilateral relations in the sphere of education and science, open new perspectives in the cooperation of higher educational institutions of Ukraine and Montenegro and promote joint scientific research in the field of humanitarian, natural, technical and pedagogical sciences, as well as increasing the mobility of students.
