Kharkiv tractor factory beginning to emerge from Russia's component supply blockade - Poroshenko

Kharkiv tractor factory is starting to emerge from the blockade of components supply organized by Russia, Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has said.

"Today we have discussed in detail with the management [of Kharkiv tractor factory]: we are starting import substitution, we are beginning to emerge out of that blockade of the components supply which was organized by Russia," Poroshenko said at Kharkiv tractor factory on Friday.

According to the president, they discussed the possibility of replacing engines produced at Yaroslavl Motor Plant with German-produced DEUTZ engines and Chinese engines.

"Those who cannot afford DEUTZ, may be offered Chinese-produced [engines]. We talked about having a credit program with our Chinese partners for the supply of engineering products. Why not create synergy? So that they [engines] could be afforded by Ukrainian farmers and would help create orders for Ukrainian machine builders," Poroshenko said.
