Around 300,000 tonnes of grain and oilseeds were transported by own fleet of Nibulon enterprise along the Southern Bug River in 2016.

The company said on its website that since the beginning of navigation in 2016, Nibulon has performed more than 150 cargo trips along the Southern Bug River.

"Thus, the company has broken the best results of the Soviet period in river transportation by six times. The maximum grain cargo that was transported along the Southern Bug River at that time totaled 50,000 tonnes per year," the company said.

The agricultural commodities were shipped from the company’s transshipment terminals located in Nova Odesa and Voznesensk districts (Mykolaiv region).

The company seeks to transport up to 2 million tonnes of cargoes per year along the Southern Bug River (1 million tonnes of grain cargoes, 1 million tonnes of building materials).

Along with increasing cargo transportation by inland waterways, Nibulon is reviving passenger transportation in Ukraine. Two hydrofoils Nibulon Express were added to the company’s fleet and have already undergone pre-operating trials.

Nibulon General Director Oleksiy Vadatursky said the company seeks to revive the infrastructure of the Southern Bug River by spring 2017 and start passenger transportation to Nova Odesa and Voznesensk (Mykolaiv region).

Nibulon was created in 1991. It is one of the largest operators in the grain market of the country. It has elevators with a total capacity of about 2 million tonnes, as well as its own transshipment terminal with a capacity of 5 million tonnes in Mykolaiv.
