The Days of Europe will be held in Kyiv on May 21-22, the website of Kyiv City State Administration has announced.

"This year celebration of Europe Day will be held on May 21-22 on Mykhailivska Square in a traditional European style – A Picnic in Europe," the administration said in a statement.

The official opening of the Europe Day will take place at 12:00 on May 21. State government and Kyiv city officials, the head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine, representatives of EU countries embassies are expected to attend the public event.

"Representatives of European countries will present interactive and creative projects of embassies and national cultural centers," the statement reads.

Celebrations will include a festival of street music "Street Music Day", which will bring together musicians from around the world. The on-line installation "The door to Europe" is also planned and Ukrainian athletes, who perform in the spectacular outdoor sports, will present their routines.

Sports competitions and master classes will be held for children, and there will be different attractions, such as trampolines.

The performance of "ONUKA" (Ukrainian electronic band) is planned during the evening program. In addition, residents and guests of the capital will be able to watch classical European films on the big screen in "silent format" - wearing headphones.

"The capital continues the celebration of Europe Day on Sunday, May 22. Football players selected to represent the Ukrainian national team in the UEFA Europe 2016 tournament, which will take place in France, will take place on St. Mykhailivska Square at 12:00," the administration said.
