The State Fiscal Service (SFS) promises to ensure quick and efficient clearance of goods being shipped by the Silk Road route launched on January 15 from Ukraine to China via Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to bypass Russian Federation territory.

"Given the need for the introduction of new logistics routes for shipments of goods from Europe to Asia and back, the SFS is willing to further promote the development of alternative ways of goods transportation simultaneously ensuring adequate quality and speed of handling of export and import goods," the SFS said on its website.

Details of the control procedures were agreed by the control services of the Illichivsk commercial seaport in Ukraine's Odesa region, which is the point of departure for the maiden trip of a container train running by the Silk Road route, the SFS said.

As reported, Ukraine's Infrastructure Ministry jointly with PAO Ukrzaliznytsia on January 15 sent the first container train en route Ukraine-Georgia-Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan-China via the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea along the so-called southern Silk Road route to bypass the territory of Russia, which banned transit shipments from Ukraine.
