Dnipropetrovsk region budget UAH 1 bln overfulfilled in ten months - Reznichenko

Dnipropetrovsk region has received UAH 9.8 billion in ten months, which is UAH 1.137 billion (or 13%) more than planned.

"All of the budgets of cities and districts in Dnipropetrovsk region were exceeded. The region earned a total of 13% more than planned. However, these funds will not be left out of the plan. They will be redistributed to different areas for the development of the region," Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Valentyn Reznichenko told reporters.

He said that the additional funds enabled a five-fold increase in spending on social services, a four-fold increase in funds for road repairs, and a 1.5-time increase in funds for housing and utilities sector repairs.

"The money [will be used to] renovate schools, hospitals, roads, elevators and roofs, new kindergartens and development centers. This year Dnipropetrovsk region will spend about UAH 1 billion from the regional budget on the renovation and construction of social facilities," Reznichenko said.

He also noted that the additional funds are the result of fiscal decentralization. Since the beginning of the year, Dnipropetrovsk region has received 10% of corporate income tax, 55% of environmental tax, 5% of excise duty, and a 100% payment for the provision of administrative services. These funds will remain in the regional budgets for the first time this year and communities have the right to use the funds as they deem necessary.
