The decline in industrial production in Ukraine in October 2015 compared to the same month in 2014 slowed down due to the effect of comparative base to 5% against 5.1% in September, 5.8% in August, 13.4% in July, and 18.1% in June, the State Statistics Service has reported.

According to its data, in relation to the previous month industrial production in October increased by 7.3%, and in general for the first ten months of 2015 the decline in industrial production in the same period last year slowed to 15.4% against 16.6% in the first nine months of the year.

The service said that it did not consider part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone during its calculations. In addition, as in the previous quarters of 2014 and the first months of 2015, the figure is given without regard to the occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.

In Donetsk region, industrial production in October increased by 8.7%, whereas in the previous month by 16.9%, in Luhansk region in October an increase of 23% was recorded after rising by 13% in September.

As for the other regions, if in August 2015 only five regions posted positive results, then in September three regions posted positive results, while in October only Sumy region (3.5%) returned a positive result.
