HeidelbergCement Ukraine to close office in Dnipropetrovsk, branch in Donetsk region

PJSC HeidelbergCement Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region, which unites the Ukrainian cement plants of HeidelbergCement Group in Ukraine, plans to close its representative office in the city of Dnipropetrovsk.

The issue is on the agenda of the company's stockholders meeting scheduled for April 14, the company has reported.

The agenda also includes the closure of the Amvrosiyivka branch of PJSC HeidelbergCement Ukraine in Donetsk region.

HeidelbergCement AG, a large German producer of construction materials and the world's third largest manufacturer of construction materials after France's Lafarge and Switzerland's Holcim halted production at its Ukrainian-based enterprise located east of Donetsk in mid-November 2014.

Prior to that, HeidelbergCement had announced a 30% decline in sales in Ukraine in 2014.

The decision to open the Dnipropetrovsk representative office was made in April 2013.

HeidelbergCement Group entered the Ukrainian market in 2001. It produces cement, concrete and other construction products. The group has 2,800 offices in 50 countries.

PJSC HeidelbergCement Ukraine was created in 2002.
