The Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine has appointed Myhkailo Labutin the director general of Ukrspyrt state spirit and vodka enterprise.

"Labutin is working at the post of director general of state enterprise Ukrspyrt. First he was appointed acting director general, as the previous head [Oleksandr Khart] was on long-term sick leave. When he was dismissed, Labutin was appointed director general of state enterprise Ukrspyrt," Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Ihor Shvaika told reporters on June 27.

According to the state register of companies and individual businessmen, Labutin has been director general of Ukrspyrt since May 30, 2014.

The former head of Ukrspyrt Khart has been put on the wanted list.

"At present, criminal proceedings have been launched. The former head of Ukrspyrt is a suspect and he has been put on the wanted list. We're searching for him to punish him – not only him, but persons who participated in illegal schemes," First Deputy Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Khomenko said on June 26.

He said that the damage to the national budget from the sale of illegal spirit in 2013 came to UAH 3.5 billion.
