The Tanzanian government is studying the possibility of supplying agricultural machinery and fertilizers from Ukraine.

According to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry, the issue was discussed by Ukrainian Ambassador to Kenya and Tanzania Volodymyr Butiaha and Acting Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives of Tanzania Mbogo Futakamba in Tanzania's capital Dar es Salaam.

Futakamba noted that the mission of his ministry would arrive in Ukraine to study the production capacity of the country in April 2013.

Butiaha, in turn, drew the minister's attention to such Ukrainian producers as Ukrmashbud, Kharkiv Tractor Plant, Pivdenmash, and KrAZ. At the same time, he noted that the country could meet the needs of Tanzania in fertilizers and special chemicals to protect agricultural crops.

In addition, Ukraine's ambassador to Kenya and Tanzania said that Ukrainian scientific and research bureaus and the Ukrainian Seeds company are working on the issue of selecting seeds and animals adapted to the climatic conditions of Tanzania.

Futakamba proposed Ukrainian companies take part in an international exhibition to be held in Tanzania on June 6-8, 2013.
