Court resumes Ukrtatnafta bankruptcy case

The economic court in Poltava region has resumed proceedings in the case on bankruptcy of public joint-stock company Ukrtatnafta, which operates Kremenchuk oil refinery (Poltava region).

The court ruling of December 3, 2012 was published in the single register of rulings.

Private joint-stock company Agrotechbusiness (Cherkasy) lodged the claim.

The proceedings in the case were suspended on August 10, 2010 until a ruling was issued in an affiliated case by the economic court in Cherkasy region.

In the economic court in Cherkasy region, Ukrtatnafta tried to have the payment of a bill, which is the core of its litigation with Agrotechbusiness, declared invalid. On November 5, 2012, the economic court in Cherkasy region rejected the claim of Ukrtatnafta.

According to a ruling of the economic court in Poltava region, the ruling of the economic court in Cherkasy region has taken effect, as there is no information in the single register of rulings of its being appealed against.

As reported, earlier the economic court of appeals in Kharkiv collected UAH 58 million from public joint-stock company Ukrtatnafta in favor of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine for fuel that has not been supplied.

Ukrtatnafta operates Kremenchuk oil refinery, which has a projected annual refining capacity of 18.62 million tonnes.

National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy holds a 43.05% stake in Ukrtatnafta, and stakes of 28% each are held by the Privat Group and Oleksandr Yaroslavsky's group. Ukrtatnafta's management has been under control of the Privat Group since October 2007.
