Massive combined Russian attack shuts down Zaporizhstal

As a result of massive Russian shelling of Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities on Tuesday, the Zaporizhstal steelworks (in Zaporizhia region) was completely de-energized, which led to an emergency shutdown of production.

According to the plant, in difficult conditions, the company's team quickly switched to alternative power sources and subsequently safely shut down production processes in accordance with the anti-crisis regulations. Thanks to the timely response and coordinated actions of the personnel, as well as emergency measures taken to minimize emergency situations, it was possible to avoid a man-made accident and reduce the level of emissions into the atmosphere.

There is no threat to the lives and health of employees and residents.

The company has implemented operational solutions to stabilize the internal power system. Further production will be resumed after the restoration of external power supply.

Zaporizhstal is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Ukraine, whose products are in wide demand among consumers both in the domestic market and in many countries of the world.

Zaporizhstal is a joint venture of the Metinvest group, the main shareholders of which are PrJSC System Capital Management (71.24%) and Smart Steel Limited (23.76%). LLC "Metinvest Holding" is the management company of the Metinvest group.
