Privat, mono, Raiffeisen, Ukrexim and UkrSibbank become most profitable in Aug 2024
State-owned PrivatBank in August 2024 reduced its net profit by 3.6% compared to July, to UAH 6.3 billion and headed the top five most profitable banks in the country in August with this indicator, according to data from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on its website.
According to them, Privat is followed by Universal Bank (mono), which in August received UAH 792.96 million in net profit compared to UAH 841.6 million in July (5.8% less).
Raiffeisen Bank closed the top three, increasing its profit by 34.1% compared to July, to UAH 747.33 million.
It is followed by Ukreximbank and UkrSibbank with UAH 623.14 million (65.1% more compared to July) and UAH 584.79 million (7% more), respectively.
The second five most profitable banks in August were headed by Credit Agricole Bank, whose net profit decreased by 16% compared to July, to UAH 517.46 million. It also included: Citi Bank - UAH 498.81 million (7.7% less), OTP Bank - UAH 479.25 million (31.2% more), Ukrgasbank - UAH 439.10 million (2% more) and FUIB - UAH 433.77 million (2.9% more).
Six more banks received a net profit of over UAH 100 million in August 2024: Sense Bank - UAH 236.36 million, Oschadbank - UAH 182.61 million, Kredobank - UAH 143.68 million, ProCredit Bank - UAH 132.95 million, A-Bank - UAH 118.49 million and Pivdenny Bank - UAH 104.74 million.
At the same time, the top three most unprofitable banks in August were Bank Lviv with a net loss of UAH 101.31 million, Bank Clearing House - UAH 72.36 million and Bank Grant - UAH 58.95 million.
The list of the most profitable banks in general for the first eight months of this year is also headed by a wide margin by Privat - UAH 43.4 billion, followed by Oschadbank - UAH 11.2 billion.
Then, in a denser group, there are Raif - UAH 5.6 billion, Ukrexim - UAH 5.4 billion, Credit Agricole - UAH 4.7 billion, FUIB - UAH 4.7 billion, UkrSib - UAH 4.6 billion and Ukrgas - UAH 4.2 billion.
Six more banks also received net profits of over UAH 1 billion for the first eight months of this year: mono - UAH 4 billion, OTP - UAH 3.5 billion, City - UAH 3.2 billion, Sense - UAH 2.4 billion, Kredobank - UAH 1.3 billion and A-Bank - UAH 1.04 billion.
As for unprofitable banks, there are eight of 62 in Ukraine based on the results of January-August. Pravex Bank has the worst indicator - UAH 122.58 million, followed by Grant Bank - UAH 72.93 million and Industrialbank - UAH 43.83 million.
In general, for January-August 2024, the net profit of banks amounted to UAH 106.08 billion, including UAH 12.47 billion in August compared to UAH 14.58 billion in July.
