Ukrenergo says attack on energy facilities on Aug 26 is largest since start of war
Ukrenergo says that the Russian attack on energy facilities on August 26 is the largest since the beginning of the war, the company reported on Telegram.
"Yesterday, on August 26, the enemy carried out the largest missile and drone attack on the Ukrainian energy system since the beginning of the war. Ukrenergo repair crews have already begun emergency restoration work. Power engineers will work 24/7 to restore light to Ukrainian homes as soon as possible," the company noted.
At the same time, on Monday, Ukraine received emergency assistance from the energy systems of Poland and Slovakia at the request of Ukrenergo.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy specified that in the past 24 hours, strikes on energy infrastructure facilities were carried out in ten regions. During the enemy attack, an employee of one of the facilities was killed, one worker was wounded and taken to the hospital.
"To maintain the stability of the energy system, it is important to use electricity rationally and economically," the ministry noted.
As reported, Russian occupiers launched 127 missiles and 109 attack drones at Ukrainian territory on August 26, of which 102 missiles and 99 UAVs were shot down.
