Heat from Coca-Cola, Ukrainian Red Cross for social infrastructure in Cherkasy region
The Coca-Cola System, in close cooperation with the Ukrainian Red Cross, continues to donate Ukrainian-made mobile boiler houses to communities for the second year in a row.
Two of them, with a capacity of 1,000 kW and 500 kW, are intended for hospitals in Cherkasy region. By the last heating season, the region had already received eleven boiler houses to heat social infrastructure facilities. Thus, it has 13 new boilers houses in total, which significantly supports the energy security of Cherkasy region.
One of the 500 kW boiler houses was transferred to a medical institution in the region. The equipment fully meets the needs of the health facility.
"The Cherkasy territorial community and Cherkasyteplokomunenergo are sincerely grateful to the Ukrainian Red Cross and Coca-Cola for this support, which will help the city's health facilities to survive the winter safely. Thanks to the mobile boiler houses, our maternity patients in the maternity hospital, patients of emergency room and other units will have guaranteed warm conditions to stay in. In the event of further damage to critical infrastructure, we will be able to connect the units to the buildings where the need arises. Today, this is much-needed help!" Pavlo Karas, the head of Cherkasyteplokomunenergo, a municipal heating network company of Cherkasy City Council, said.
The boiler houses burn natural gas but can switch to diesel fuel. An important factor is their mobility, which allows to quickly move and install this heating equipment in new locations if necessary.
Over the past two years, the Coca-Cola System has invested $ 8.5 million in the purchase of 105 boiler houses across Ukraine, which will allow heating up to 600,000 square meters of social facilities and housing, in particular in areas where the risks of infrastructure destruction remain high.
