Zelenskyy invites Japan to focus on restoring Ukrainian engineering, green energy

During a meeting in Kyiv with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy suggested that the Japanese side focus on restoring Ukrainian engineering and green energy as part of Ukraine's Fast Recovery Plan.

"Involving Japan in the implementation of the Fast Recovery Plan will definitely create new directions for the development of both our and Japanese society, both our and the Japanese economies. I suggested that Japan focus on restoring some sectors of the economy - this is engineering, green transformation, in particular, manufacturing hydrogen equipment and lithium batteries, where Japan is one of the technological leaders," Zelenskyy said at a press conference with the Japanese Prime Minister in Kyiv.

In addition, according to him, Japan was invited to participate in providing support to medical institutions in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also stressed that Ukraine is interested in the Japanese support for humanitarian demining.

"That is, clearing our land of hundreds of thousands of Russian mines that did not explode and threaten people's lives. I am sure that significant results can be achieved in the humanitarian direction," he said.

The head of state noted that Ukraine and Japan, in general, have great opportunities for cooperation due to their powerful technological potential.
