Currently, the Russian Navy can only launch strikes on the territory of Ukraine from submarines, since other carriers are afraid of the combat work of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, said Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The Russian fleet in the Black Sea has currently 10 missile carriers, their number may vary depending on combat readiness. We can say that there are 40 units that pose a potential danger, but those that can strike at the territory of Ukraine are cruise missile carriers, among them three submarines with four missiles each (Varshavyanka project)," he said on the air of a nationwide telethon on Sunday, commenting on the second anniversary the destruction of the cruiser Moskva.

"We see that now only they are trying to leave Novorossiysk. And the last confirmed use was from a submarine, when strikes were launched on Zaporizhia a few days ago. And so, in six months there were only two confirmed applications of cruise missiles from a submarine," Pletenchuk said.
