Luxembourg joins Czech initiative on artillery ammunition for Ukraine

Luxembourg has announced its participation in the Czech initiative aimed at purchasing artillery ammunition outside the European Union for Ukraine, and also announced the recent shipment of 155 mm shells to Kyiv, according to the Ministry of Defense of Luxembourg.

“Luxembourg joins the Czech artillery ammunition initiative in support of defense of Ukraine. This will be part of our overall effort to provide much needed capabilities to Ukraine in their fight against the Russian aggressor,” the ministry said on X.

The Ministry of Defense also reported that Luxembourg Defense Minister Yuriko Backes, while participating in a joint meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense, held in a videoconference format at the initiative of the French government on March 7, also announced the recent supply of 6,000 155-mm shells to Ukraine by Luxembourg Defense.

Earlier it was reported that the Czech Republic is looking for ammunition and weapons for the speedy delivery of Ukraine around the world, in particular, there is a possibility of supplying 500,000 of 155 mm shells and 300,000 of 122 mm shells from third countries within weeks if the necessary funding is received.
