Kostin: Standards for prosecutors' activities in investment protection during pretrial investigations to become mandatory

In the near future, standards of activity in the field of investment protection during pretrial investigations will be introduced into the work of prosecutors, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin said.

"Now, the Standards for Prosecutors' Activities in the Field of Investment Protection during Pretrial Investigations will become binding and will be implemented in the daily work of prosecutors shortly. Their provisions have been updated by the Department of Criminal Policy and Investment Protection of the Prosecutor General's Office together with representatives of business associations, the Office of the Business Ombudsman Council, International Development Law Organization (IDLO), EU Advisory Mission to Ukraine," Kostin wrote on the social network X on Monday.

He emphasized that failure to comply with these standards could result in a number of procedural and personnel decisions.

"We systematically cooperate with all major business associations to tackle challenges, emphasizing the need to eliminate the disgraceful practices of law enforcement officers who abuse their powers and exert pressure on businesses for personal gain. Over 120 cases have been resolved through the work of the specialized department, which ensured that the rights of entrepreneurs were protected," Kostin added.

According to the Prosecutor General, law enforcement officers strive to develop a transparent partnership and ensure open communication with business.

"We must do everything to strengthen the Ukrainian state and to ensure that our common victory over the enemy is Made in Ukraine," he concluded.
