Ukrainian military intelligence head sees no signs of China's weapons supply to Russia

Head of the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Kyrylo Budanov does not believe that discussions are underway between China and Russia on the supply of weapons.

"I do not share this opinion. As of now, I do not think that China will agree to the transfer of weapons to Russia… I do not see any signs that such things are even being discussed," Budanov said in an interview with Voice of America.

He said as the head of intelligence, he "relies only on facts," and he does not see such facts now.

According to Budanov, "almost the only country that actually transfers more or less serious weapons to Russia is Iran."

"There was information that something was coming from North Korea, but we have no confirmation of this. And there is not a single case when we would have recorded that some kind of weapons that came from North Korea were used here. Perhaps we just haven't seen it yet, or it goes to some other, as they say, needs," the head of intelligence said.

He also said Russia has attempts to buy through third countries "to import weapons on a more or less large scale."

"Now they are trying with Myanmar. What will come of this, we will see in time. But in fact, Russia is limited in terms of weapons, let's say, by Iran. As of now," Budanov said.
