Ukraine is interested in Boris Johnson and people like him to support the country in the world, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video statement on Sunday.

"Today our friend Boris Johnson visited Ukraine, Kyiv, Bucha, Borodianka. A person who does not need to be introduced in any particular way. Together with him we talked to the students of Shevchenko University. This is also all symbolic, it is on our day, the Day of Unity. It is symbolic, because the struggle for freedom unites different people, different peoples," Zelensky said.

In his words, "the free world has united as it has not been united for a long time. It is very important to maintain unity. To do everything so that people who value freedom are together and effective. We are interested in Boris and our other people, like him, dealing with issues of supporting Ukraine in the world, issues of protecting freedom."

"This should be remembered by all Ukrainians: the British contribution to our defense is extremely significant. I thank all the British for it, absolutely all our friends in Britain, the whole society. I thank Mr. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for his powerful decisions, for his policies that make the free world stronger," he said.
