After Russia's missile strikes on Ukraine, the time has come to lift restrictions on arms supplies to Ukraine, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Jaroslav Kurfürst has said.

"Perhaps this is the time when there should be a lifting of many restrictions on the weapons that we supply to Ukraine. Perhaps this is the time to support Ukraine even more. But, of course, there should always be more support. From the very beginning, all of us who supports Ukraine, we believe much more needs to be done," Kurfürst told reporters in Prague on Monday.

The deputy foreign minister said that such a terrorist attack on the civilian population cannot be sufficiently punished "because those who are responsible sit in the Kremlin and enjoy life."

"As the Czech Republic, we insist on a new tribunal for an act of aggression, and the punishment of the people who are responsible," Kurfürst said.

Kurfürst said that the Russian missile strikes on Ukraine are proof of Russia's barbarity and disrespect for human life.

"We live in a very difficult time. I believe that the world after this war will be different, and I am quite sure that Russia will lose, and there will be a new geopolitical map. I don't know if it's better or worse, but the West will win, Putin will lose," Kurfürst said.

He also drew attention to the readiness of the Czech Republic to spend CZK 170 million by the end of the year to support Ukraine's preparations for winter.

"There is a lot of effort, planning for the future reconstruction of Ukraine, which may be a bit distant, but still urgently needs the reconstruction of humanitarian, critical infrastructure and demilitarization, preparing Ukraine for winter. We are ready to spend CZK 170 million by the end of the year to support the preparation of Ukraine for winter," he said.
