Ukraine wins six more medals at Beijing Paralympic Games

Ukrainian athletes won six more medals on the seventh day of the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing.

"Six medals, three of them gold, brought Ukraine the seventh day of the Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing. They were obtained in different classes of 12.5 km biathlon races," the press service of the National Olympic Committee said in a statement.

In particular, Oksana Shyshkova, who competes among athletes with visual impairments (guide Andriy Marchenko), has already won for her third gold and a total of five awards at the Paralympics.

Also, a full set of medals has already been collected in Beijing 2022 by Liudmyla Liashenko (standing class), who today added gold to silver at 6 km and bronze at 10 km.

In addition, Oleksandr Kazyk (class B1, guide Serhiy Kucheriavy) celebrated the gold victory, the second place was taken by Vitaliy Lukyanenko (class B3, guide Borys Babar), who already has two Beijing-2022 gold medals.

Taras Rad (seated class LW12) became the Vice-Champion of the Paralympic Games, and Hryhoriy Vovchynsky won bronze among the participants with a lesion of the musculoskeletal system, thus receiving his fourth award at this Paralympic Games.

Ukraine's national team has already won 25 medals: 9 gold, 10 silver, 6 bronze at the 2022 Paralympics, and currently ranks second in the medal standings after China.
