Leaders of Ukrainian enterprises should be criminally liable for purchases from Russia - Turchynov

Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov believes that the leaders of Ukrainian enterprises carrying out purchases in Russia should bear not only moral, but also criminal responsibility.

"Every responsible leader must report to his country for a position on treason [...] It seems to me that there should be not only moral, but also criminal responsibility for financial support of the aggressor country, those who buy those things in Russia that can be made in Ukraine," Turchynov told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.

He also noted that he considers a shame the order for the purchase by PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia of a batch of award badges in Russia.

"When we order some badges in Russia, it's just a shame!" Turchynov said.

Earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia ordered in Russia a batch of award badges "Honorary Railroader." Respective information was posted on the ProZorro public procurement website.

The company's acting head, Yevhen Kravtsov, instructed to stop the procedure for purchasing award badges "Honorable Railroader" from the administrative and economic department of OJSC Russian Railways and also supports the revision of this agreement by the Ukrainian side.
