The new Ukrainian helicopter SMB-2 'Nadiya,' built by PJSC 'Motor Sich' (Zaporizhia), will make its debut flight next Monday, on April 16.

The company is getting ready for the first flight of its pet project - the multipurpose SMB-2 helicopter 'Nadiya,' built on the basis of the Mi-2 helicopter, the press service of Motor Sich told Interfax-Ukraine agency.

Representatives of the Zaporozhia enterprise said that the 'Nadiya' helicopter is intended for patrolling roads, monitoring pipelines and gas pipelines. It is to be used by units of the State Emergency Service, air medical aviation, State Border Guard Service and for other defense purposes.

The debut flight of the Ukrainian helicopter will take place in Zaporizhia on April 16 from a specialized helicopter platform of the enterprise.

Also, the management of PJSC Motor Sich announced earlier that the process of state certification of the Zaporozhia helicopter "Nadiya" had started, after which the company plans to start the production of helicopters in 2018.
