PABSEC General Assembly to be held in Kyiv on Nov 28-30

The 50th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) will be held in Kyiv on November 28-30.

The plenary session of the PABSEC General Assembly will be opened by Chairman of Ukrainian Parliament Andriy Parubiy, the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reported on Monday.

PABSEC Vice President, Head of the Verkhovna Rada's permanent delegation to this organization Liudmyla Denisova will preside at the meeting of the General Assembly.

It is expected that Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin will address the meeting.

During the session of the PABSEC General Assembly, reports will delivered on activities of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC), the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, the BSEC Business Council, the Black Sea Research Center, and others. Representatives of parliamentary assemblies and international organizations are also scheduled to take floor at the conference.

Participants of the plenary session are expected to adopt a PABSEC declaration on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Assembly.

As part of the General Assembly's session, the Bureau and the PABSEC Standing Committee will meet on Tuesday, November 28.

On November 30, the elections of the PABSEC chair will take place.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) was established on February 26, 1993. It includes representatives of parliaments of 12 countries: Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Armenia, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.

The People's Assembly of Egypt, the Knesset of the State of Israel, the People's Assembly of Slovakia, the German Bundestag, the parliaments of France and Belarus have the status of observers in the PABSEC.
