The influenza vaccine Vaksigripp shipped to Ukraine for the current epidemiological season was made in France, Head of the vaccines department of Sanofi in Ukraine Olena Yentina has told Interfax-Ukraine.

"The Vaksigripp vaccine for all countries, including Ukraine, is produced in France, namely - at the production sites of Sanofi Pasteur in Lyon. Vaksigripp is not produced anywhere else," she said in response to the agency's request.

Yentina said that Sanofi Pasteur production sites have a GMP certificate issued in Ukraine by the State Service for Medicines and Drugs Control.

She said that another one of the required documents for the vaccine delivery to Ukraine is the certificate of origin, which is confirmed by the producing country.

"The Vaksigripp vaccine sold in Ukraine is produced in France, which is confirmed, including, by the certificate of origin," Yentina said.

Earlier the profile parliamentary committee decided to send a request to the Health Ministry asking for all the documents concerning supplies of influenza vaccine shipped by Sanofi to Ukraine that they believe is made in India.
