Lutsenko intends to return Chornomorsky Shipbuilding Yard, Okean plant to state ownership

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko intends to shift the process of returning Chornomorsky Shipbuilding Yard and PJSC Mykolaiv Shipyard Okean to state ownership.
"I set the bar for myself at least in the first instance to complete the process of returning Chornomorsky Shipbuilding Yard and Okean plant to the state. These two cases have taken a long time, and I understand that the solution of these cases depends more on the central authorities in Kyiv," he said at a press conference in Mykolaiv.
Lutsenko also drew attention to "an atypically high growth" in the level of theft and robbery.
"I hope that thanks to the police's actions this growth will be stopped, but in any case, this is the task of all law enforcement agencies. In addition, as for the coastal strip of recreational areas: for the autumn-winter period we must achieve using them within the law," the Prosecutor General said.
He also noted the need for auditing the use of budget funds and municipal property.
As reported, on April 5 the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine announced a search for a group of persons suspected of bringing Mykolaiv Okean Shipyard to bankruptcy and causing UAH 1.5 billion in damages to the company.
