The Special Investigations Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has sent to a court an indictment in criminal proceedings against the commander of Kyiv squadron of Berkut riot police, a platoon commander and five of his subordinates, charging them with inflicting bodily injuries to visitors of events in the Ukrainian House on April 8, 2010.

These people have been charged with exceeding their authority while acting on the orders of Ukrainian lawmaker of the Verkhovna Rada of the 5th-7th convocations Vadym Kolesnichenko, along with former Deputy Chief of Kyiv police, the commander of the Berkut riot police regiment, and his deputy, on April 8, 2010 during an open event in the Grand Exhibition Hall of the Ukrainian House in Kyiv, when they provoked the conflict and unnecessarily used force against the visitors, detained 14 of them, including an elderly Hero of Ukraine age, and caused bodily harm to them, the PGO's press service reported on Friday.
