NABU will test candidates to Supreme Court of Ukraine

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) will evaluate candidates for posts of judges at the Supreme Court for corruption.

"The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine will join the process of selecting judges to the new Supreme Court of Ukraine. In particular, the NABU will assess applicants for corruption risks. On November 9 bureau director Artem Sytnyk and chairman of the Higher Qualification Commission of Judges Serhiy Kozyakov agreed on this," the NABU press service said.

Sytnyk noted the bureau had signed a corresponding memorandum with the Higher Qualification Commission of Judges.

"Therefore we will use all our capabilities to maximally study candidates and prevent the penetration of people with corruption risks to the new judicial power," he said.

As reported, on November 7 the Higher Qualification Commission of Judges announced a tender for 120 judges to the new Supreme Court of Ukraine.
