Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko after a meeting with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, as well as following a meeting with the leadership of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) on August 17 stated the sides came to the conclusion they have "common goals and joint responsibility."

"I've met with the president and the heads of all law enforcement agencies. I held a meeting with the heads of the NABU and the SAP. They confirmed we have 'common goals and joint responsibility'," he wrote on his Facebook page, noting a joint briefing will be held on August 18.

Lutsenko said in connection with the incident that took place on August 12 between the members of the NABU and the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO), he together with the PGO adviser, former Assistant U.S. Attorney Bohdan Vitvitsky heard the explanations of Deputy Prosecutor General Yuriy Stoliarchuk and chief of the PGO department for investigations into particularly important economic cases Volodymyr Hutsuliak.
