Ukraine prepares bill on mine action based on current standards
The Cabinet of Ministers will soon consider a draft law on mine action, which is based on international practice and reflects current standards in this field.
According to the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, Deputy Defense Minister for Ukraine's European Integration Ihor Dolhov said this at a meeting with UN Humanitarian Coordinator Neal Walker.
"The issue of mine action is very important for Ukraine, it is under constant control of the state leadership and the Defense Ministry. Ukrainian citizens live on the contact line and the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions uncontrolled by the government and we must take care of them," the Ukrainian official said.
