Rada has enough votes for resignation of Yatseniuk, no votes for new premier - Lutsenko

The Verkhovna Rada has enough votes for the resignation of incumbent Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk but there are no votes for the appointment of a new premier, Leader of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko faction Yuriy Lutsenko has stated.

"I can argue that the parliamentary arithmetic allows to dismiss the prime minister but does not enable to appoint someone for the post. Therefore such actions would be irresponsible because the government without a head, the parliament without a coalition, the country without a budget would mean an automatic stop of cooperation with the IMF, while the country without almost $5 billion of the next tranche over a month will slide into hyperinflation and anarchy. This is an unacceptable scenario and today the decision of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko faction is not to raise the question about the responsibility of the government prior to the adoption of the budget and the Tax Code," Lutsenko told reporters on the sidelines of the parliament.
