KfW to grant EUR14 mln to Ukraine to support social projects

German lender KfW will grant EUR14 million to Ukraine to support social projects.

The grant agreement was signed Social Policy Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko and KfW Director in Kyiv Lutz Horn-Haacke.

As reported, on November 4 Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius and Director of the Department at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Andreas Gies signed the documents on Germany's providing Ukraine with EUR136 million in loans and grants in 2016 to implement more than 20 projects in various spheres. Of this amount, credit funds will be EUR88 million, while technical assistance EUR48 million.

Funds from the German government will come mainly through KfW.

The loan funds will be used for projects in the sphere of development of democracy, support for economic growth and energy independence, as well as in the social sphere. Part of the funds will be intended for operational needs, particularly for disaster relief.
