Ukrainian Armed Forces to suspend armaments withdrawal if militants continue provocations – Turchynov

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has said that if the Russian backed militants in eastern Ukraine continue their provocations the Armed Forces of Ukraine will suspend the withdrawal of armaments and military hardware in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone.

"If the Russian invaders continue their provocative actions, which threaten the lives and security of the Ukrainian military [personnel] and civilians, then [Ukrainian] armaments and military hardware will be immediately brought back to their previous location, and the Ukrainian servicemen will act in line with the existing challenges of the Russian invaders," Turchynov said in the report released on Wednesday.

According to the NSDC, over the past 24 hours nine breaches of the ceasefire were registered, which according to Turchynov constitutes an attempt to break the Minsk agreements.

"Unlike the previous provocations, the attacks were of a high intensity, and as a result five [Ukrainian] servicemen received injuries," Turchynov said.

On November 3, Luhansk Regional State Administration reported that three Ukrainian servicemen of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade were injured in an attack by automatic heavy grenade launchers in Triokhizbenka.

Meanwhile, presidential administration spokesman on ATO issues Andriy Lysenko reported that two more Ukrainian soldiers were wounded near Avdiyivka and Opytne in Donetsk region.
