Poland, Ukraine sign EUR 100 mln loan agreement for modernization of border infrastructure

The governments of Ukraine and Poland signed an agreement on financing projects for development of road infrastructure in border regions and other projects on September 9 in Poland.

This was revealed by the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers on its Twitter page on Wednesday.

It was earlier reported that the Polish government had decided to lend Kyiv up to EUR 100 million in a loan for financing exports of goods and services from Poland to Ukraine, including those necessary for modernization of the road infrastructure along the state frontier and for construction of Ukraine-Poland border-crossing points.

"This initiative is to confirm Poland's interest in providing aid to other nations and strengthen our country's position as a donor, which must be viewed positively by OECD [Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development] countries," a statement of Poland's Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz said.
