Ukrainian military positions are shelled on contact line more frequently at night - headquarters
The number of shellings of positions of Ukrainian troops reduced slightly in the combat zone in Donbas on Thursday, August 13, as the opposite warring party was mostly active at night, the press center of the headquarters of the special operation said.
"For instance, a subversive reconnaissance group of the enemy sought to bypass our checkpoint in the area of Semyhirya at about 1 a.m. in the direction of Artemivsk. The enemy's 152mm artillery systems were firing at 2.05 a.m. on the positions of our troops in the same settlement," says an overall report posted on the Facebook page of the press center on Thursday evening.
Militants opened fire with 122mm artillery guns at 2.30 a.m. in Donetsk region and shelled Avdiyivka at about 4 p.m. using 120mm mortars and grenade launchers, the headquarters said.
Ukrainian checkpoints came under fire from 122mm artillery guns in Orlivske twice at about midnight in the area of Mariupol; 120mm mortar shells were landing near Shyrokyne. Militants also fired twice since 2.05 p.m. at Starohnativka using 152mm artillery guns.
The positions of Ukrainian troops have come under fire since 5.10 a.m. and for about an hour from 152mm artillery guns and mortars in Bolotne, Luhansk region.
"Already in the course of the day, the enemy, predominantly with provocative purpose, has used small arms along the disengagement line," the press center said.
