MP Lytvyn confirms death of People's Will group's leader Yeremeyev

Member of the People's Will parliamentary group Volodymyr Lytvyn has confirmed information in media that the leader of this group Ihor Yeremeyev, who received a head injury in a fall from a horse, died in one of the Swiss clinics.

"This is a tragic truth. Several hours ago Ihor Yeremeyev died," he told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to Lytvyn, the leader of the People's Will group was treated in one of the Swiss hospitals. "Now we're looking for a possibility to leave for Zurich," he said.

As reported, on July 26, Yeremeyev received a head injury while riding a horse and was taken to the city hospital in Lutsk. Doctors said his condition was serious but stable.

Later on he was brought to a European clinic for treatment and subsequent rehabilitation.

The MP had been in a coma for three weeks.

Yeremeyev, born 1968, heads of the People's Will group in the Verkhovna Rada of the 8th convocation. The group includes 19 MPs.

In 2013, he was in the top rating of richest Ukrainians with $151 million wealth. Yeremeyev is the owner of Continuum, a group of companies that owns the chain of WOG gas stations, Kherson oil refinery, Halychyna dairy company, telecommunications (CDMA Ukraine operator).
