Klimkin expects to discuss establishment of trust funds for Ukrainian armed forces with NATO

The establishment of new trust funds for supporting the Ukrainian armed forces will be discussed at a session of the Ukraine-NATO commission during a meeting of the NATO foreign policy chiefs on Wednesday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin told journalists.

"NATO, as an alliance, does not provide weapons, we are working within the framework of five trust funds. We do hope for the continuation of this practice of establishing new funds that would be bringing the Ukrainian armed forces and the security sector as a whole in line with NATO standards," Klimkin said.

"Very precise assessment will be made, and investments will be announced," he said.

Touching on a draft statement that should be adopted at the Ukraine-NATO commission session, Klimkin said, "During the session of the Ukraine-NATO commission today, I will say how NATO would help us practically. And the statement is focused on aspects of political support."

"I believe this is a really strong resolution, which contains unambiguous words and signals in support of Ukraine," he said.
