Ukraine could only visually observe Russian 'humanitarian convoy' – Border Guards

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has said that Ukrainian monitors only managed to visually observe the 25th Russian 'humanitarian convoy.'

"This morning, on a unilateral basis, Russia processed another [batch of] the so-called humanitarian convoy. The convoy's transportation was executed with violations of international and Ukrainian laws and modalities agreed upon with "the International Committee of the Red Cross. The control was carried out by participants of Ukrainian inter-agency group only via visual observation without executing [particular] control functions," Assistant Head of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Press Secretary Oleh Slobodian said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

He said that from 07:20 until 08:35 two columns of the convoy consisting of 122 vehicles crossed the Ukrainian border.

According to information available to the service, the trucks carried food, medicines, literature of unknown content, carpets, pillows, car parts, tires and field ration packs.

Slobodian said the Ukrainian Border Guard Service and Ukraine as a whole was doing its best to execute point four of the latest Minsk agreement on monitoring the Ukrainian-Russian border.
