Poroshenko signs law on drugs state procurement via international organizations

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law foreseeing drugs state procurement with the participation of international organizations, in particular, the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF.

"It will be a powerful strike on the pharmaceutical mafia, which has been earning money from the health of people for 23 years," Poroshenko said at a meeting of the National Reform Council on Thursday.

International experience shows that the introduction of such a procedure will allow the country to save up to 40% in the procurement of pharmaceuticals, he said.

As reported, on March 19, the parliament passed the law on drugs state procurement via international organizations (draft law No. 2150).
