Yatseniuk leaves for Berlin on two-day visit

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk on January 7-8 will be in Berlin on an official visit, at the invitation of Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, according to the website of the Ukrainian government.

Yatseniuk and Merkel will meet on January 8.

"It is expected that the officials will focus on the key issues of implementing strategic reforms in Ukraine, the financial and economic situation of our country and international support, cooperation in economic, investment and energy sectors," reads the report.

Special attention will be paid to the situation in Donetsk, Luhansk regions and Crimea.

During his visit to Germany, Yatseniuk will meet with Federal President Joachim Gauck and Vice Chancellor, Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel.

In addition, the prime minister of Ukraine will meet with the representatives of German businesses.

On January 8 the Ukrainian prime minister will speak at the German Council on Foreign Relations.

According to the Ukrainian government’s press service, Yatseniuk will lead the government delegation which travelled to Germany on Wednesday.

The delegation includes Finance Minister of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and Naftogaz Ukrainy chairman Andriy Kobolev.
