Tbilisi not recognizing 'referendums' in eastern Ukraine
The Georgian Foreign Ministry has said it does not recognize as legitimate the so-called referendums that were held in Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine on May 11.
"The ministry believes that such steps do not serve the goal of stabilizing the situation in Ukraine. The Georgian Foreign Ministry once again clearly reaffirms its support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, and supports the international efforts aimed at finding ways to resolve the situation in Ukraine," the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
